Data elements

The SDK returns extracted data as plain key-value pairs. The exact fields depend on the document type and issuing country, but they generally fall into three groups:

  • Holder details — surname, given names, maiden name, pseudonym, date and place of birth, nationality, gender, address, and physical descriptors such as height and eye color
  • Document details — document number, document type, issuing country, issuing authority, issue and expiry dates, and card access number (CAN)
  • Images — portrait/biometric photo and signature

The Scanbot ID Card Scanner SDK supports:

- Passports: MRZs following both two-line (TD3, TD2) and three-line (TD1, MRV-A, MRV-B) standards. 
- National ID cards: Brazil, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Macao, Poland, Romania, Turkey.  
- Driver’s licenses: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.  
- Medical ID cards or EHICs 
- Permits: China Travel Permit, China Resident Card.
